In this post we look a little at how western culture inside and outside the Church has made it difficult for guys and girls to have deep and enriching friendships.
Excerpt: “Intimacy is not about sex, it’s about interconnected closeness at a heart level. Friendships are most rewarding and beneficial when they are intimate instead of superficial, when you can share the deep things of your heart with people and be privileged to hear their’s, both being met with love.”
In this post I address a Christian campus ministry banned from a Welsh university, accused of supposed “radicalisation” and we discuss what radical Christianity actually looks like.
Excerpt: “As I said before, the recent and historical activities of religious groups, including the Church have put the world on edge with words such as “extremist” and “radical” being heard by many of us everyday. When we’re scared, we want things to be as simple as possible because if we can wrap our minds around something, we feel safer and more in control. I get that. I do it too but I really want to discourage us from generalising out of fear.”
This series is based on Matthew 5:8 “Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.” In this post I share my testimony of how Jesus set me free from an addiction to pornography and how it has shaped my relationship with God since.
Excerpt: “Getting set free by Jesus creates a love and an intimacy between you that you jealousy guard. Knowing the power of His forgiveness and grace in practice instead of in theory produces a gratitude that wants to serve Him and pursue the desires of His heart.”
Part 2 in the series looking at friendships between men and women in the Church. In this post I respond to an article that declares that male-female friendships are impossible because men are wholly subject to their sexual urges.
Excerpt: “I take issue with the implication that it’s normal for men to enter into friendships with women simply with the goal of getting them into bed. Whether it’s true or not, that’s just disgusting. This may well be the motivation of most guys in approaching friendships with women but that does not make it right, it does not make it okay.”
The beginning of the Brand New Eyes series. This series is based on Matthew 5:8 “Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.” This post asks the reader if they are prepared to lay things down in order to see God clearer.
Excerpt: “I want to show you the power of Jesus, the Chain Breaker who gives sight to the blind. I want to show you the beauty of Jesus, the Lover of your soul who gives grace to the humble. I want to show you the passion of Jesus, the jealous Bridegroom who paid the ultimate price to have His beloved by His side. My question is: Do you want to see Him?”
